This was Marquês de Pombal summer house and it’s a true ode to the Baroque and Rococo styles in Portugal. São Julião Da Barra Fortress

The Fortaleza of São Julião da Barra is one of the largest and most complete military defense complexes in the Vauban style. This is where the  Portuguese Minister of National Defence lives, and it was primarily built to guard the Tagus River and the Lisbon city against sea bound invasion.

Although known as the “Shield of the Kingdom”, the truth is that the fort did not make it to its first invasion by the French, in 1808, but part of it is today open to whoever wants to visit and have an insight into its history.

There are two distinct routes available at this particular adventure park
