Finding properties in Lourinhã

We help you find what you're looking for

Located on the Silver Coast, in the Centre of Portugal, Lourinhã appears as a great option for relocation if you are looking for a calm spot. With a low cost of living and all the infrastructure that a regular city can offer, Lourinhã can be a nice option for investments.

The city originated as a Roman village called Laurinius, having fallen under influence of the Moors during the occupation period. It was just after Portugal's independence from the Kingdom of León, just before the conquest of Lisbon from the Moors, that Lourinhã became a Portuguese city, being part of the kingdom of Portugal.

Choosing Residency by Property Investment in Lourinhã

Like all Portuguese cities with a small population, you can expect a very calm life in Lourinhã, with good coffee places and great esplanadas available at the coffee shops around. But there is another characteristic that you may find interesting in Lourinhã: don't be surprised if while walking around the public squares, you find Dinosaurs.

Lourinhã is famous worldwide for being the Portuguese Dinosaurs Route, as several Dinosaurs fossils were found in its territory. The "Dinosaurs fever" is so big in Lourinhã that they even have one of the best museums in Europe with this theme, with thousands of original fossils, that attracts several tourists every year.

Among the 150 million-year-old fossils presented at the museum, there are several remains of a carnivorous dinosaur known as "Lourinhanosaurus antunesi", a Dinosaur named after the city and the palaeontologist that found it.
