A weather advisory has been issued across Portugal due to the risk faced by people in the event of prolonged exposure to the sun.
Most regions, including the Algarve, or on very high alert with the Portuguese Met Office issuing a series of recommendations when out in the sun.
They include using sun cream, a hat, t-shirts and sunglasses, while also keeping children out the sun.
The most critical periods to avoid heading outdoors are from noon until 4pm.
